WELCOME. Cllr Mrs Ferguson welcomed everyone to the meeting.

DECLARATION OF INTEREST.
Cllr Mrs Ferguson declared an interest in the Quarley P.C.C.
The Parish Council had NO OBJECTIONS to this Planning Application.

  • 10/01196/FULLN - Erection of first floor rear garden extension, porch and replacement conservatory to dwelling and detached garage - 12 Etwall, Quarley. The Parish Council had NO OBJECTION to this Planning Application.
  • WAR MEMORIAL.
The Clerk reported that he has received a quotation of £1900 to fully restore and clean the War Memorial from Mr J Cullen, Memorial Masons in Nether Wallop. The Clerk reported that he has applied to the War Memorial Trust for a grant form, this will only be sent if the Trust feels that the War memorial in Quarley is eligible.

    PARISH COUNCILLOR’S REPORTS
CLLR MR M VENABLES - It had been brought to Cllr Mr Venables attention that the grass around the base of the Etwall sign has not been cut, this is making it difficult to see when leaving Etwall if you are in a vehicle.

The Parish Council discussed this. It has been noted that the frequency the grass is cut by TVBC and Testway has been reduced, it was felt that a bit of self help and community spirit from residents is needed to keep the grass cut especially around the sign.

Cllr Mr Venables has reported that he is working on getting a Village design Statement scheme started in Quarley.

CLLR MISS C CROSS - Spoke about village events and the need to get more of the village involved in their organisation and assist on the day. The Parish Council agreed and felt that if more people did not come forward there is a danger that the time will come when the events are not held due to lack of support. A conscious effort will be made to get more people interested in assisting.

    CLOSE OF THE MEETING
The Chairman thanked everyone for coming and closed the meeting.

    DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
21st September 2010 in the Quarley Village Hall at 7.30pm.
